Jada’s Pawsitive Impact at YES Adelaide

It has been just over 18 months since Youturn’s YES Adelaide first opened its doors, and in that time, the YES Adelaide team has remained dedicated to listening to the young people in their community and providing tailored support options to meet each individual’s needs.

As part of this commitment, the team recently launched a new wellbeing initiative called Canine Connections. This group is led by Rosie, a Peer Support Worker, and features visits from Jada, a certified therapy dog, accompanied by her owner, Cate, a devoted volunteer from the charity PAWS Pet Therapy.

To date, Jada and Cate have made five visits to the centre, quickly becoming popular among the young people. Jada has charmed everyone with her enthusiastic tricks and her eagerness to provide cuddles and pats. These visits have sparked meaningful conversations and have offered a source of heartwarming comfort and joy to many.

As one participant from Canine Connections shared, “This is just what I needed.”
