WHO
WE ARE
Since these humble beginnings of supporting just 6 people with 5 volunteers in our first year, our organisation has grown and evolved into a vibrant national organisation dedicated to making a difference across the areas of Child Safety, Homelessness, Mental Health, and Suicide Prevention.
In August 2020, we rebranded our organisation and changed our name from United Synergies to Youturn – to truly encapsulate the service to those we support.

CHILD SAFETY
Across our Child Safety services we work with vulnerable families across Southern Queensland who are affected by a range of challenges, which have the potential to impact on the safety of children and young people and, in some cases, can mean that it is no longer safe for them to reside in the family home.
HOMELESSNESS
Youturn offer a range of homelessness services such as short-term accommodation and housing assistance to:
- Those whose living conditions make it intolerable to remain at home,
- Families who can’t afford secure and appropriate housing.
MENTAL HEALTH
Our mental health support services are for people going through a tough time and needing friendly support. Youturn oversees five headspace centres across Southern Queensland, and two Youth Enhanced Services (YES) in Toowoomba and Adelaide, where we provide clinical and non-clinical support services to support you to get your life back on track.
SUICIDE PREVENTION
StandBy Support After Suicide, a program of Youturn, is Australia’s leading provider of support after suicide, offering free face-to-face and telephone support to anyone bereaved or impacted by suicide. Community workshops and education programs are locally tailored and provide increased awareness of suicide and suicide bereavement, to help enable communities to support one another.
