headspace Port Lincoln’s New Home – Official Opening Under Youturn Management

Youturn and Country SA PHN are pleased to announce that headspace Port Lincoln is now officially up and running in a purposely designed new centre for young people across the Eyre Peninsula.

To commemorate the opening of the exciting new centre, Youturn CEO, James Blevin and Country SA PHN CEO Mark Hartigan will host a launch with guests including local leaders, the headspace team, local organisations and young people.

“We know young people in regional communities face unique challenges when it comes to accessing specialist support. Being based here in Port Lincoln means we can reduce those barriers and ensure young people don’t have to travel long distances to get the help they need,” said James Blevin, Youturn CEO.

“Our team is passionate about walking alongside young people and their families, providing not only individual care, but also opportunities to connect, build resilience, and strengthen community ties.”

“We also appreciate the support of the Country SA PHN, who appointed Youturn and whose funding makes it possible for us to provide such a vital service for young people in our community.”

“Country SA PHN is pleased to see the positive impact the new full headspace centre is having on the young people of Port Lincoln and surrounds,” said Country SA PHN CEO, Mark Hartigan. “headspace Port Lincoln is bridging the gap in health inequity by providing young people from across Eyre Peninsula with vital mental health and wellbeing support as well as community peer engagement and connection that is so important for young people living in regional locations.”

Meeting a Critical Local Need

Port Lincoln and surrounding towns often face significant challenges accessing specialist mental health services. headspace Port Lincoln helps bridge this gap by offering free, confidential, and youth-friendly support for young people aged 12 to 25 and their families, both in person and through phone and online options.

The centre provides a holistic range of services, including mental health and wellbeing support, alcohol and other drugs counselling, physical and sexual health advice, and assistance with work and study. This ensures young people can access the right help, close to home, without the need to travel long distances.

Beyond individual support, headspace Port Lincoln also plays a vital role in building community connection and resilience. Through partnerships with local organisations, schools, and community groups, the centre delivers programs and events that create safe opportunities for young people to develop skills, form friendships, and feel supported within their community.

“We’re excited about the opportunities the new centre brings to further expand youth engagement, strengthen cultural connections, and broaden health services for young people,” said headspace Centre Manager Tahlia Lee.
