WOW! Youturn It Up was AMAZING!

Our friends and Ambassadors Sam & Tim from Sametime put together one incredible party at Nightquarter on Saturday 9 April, for a very important cause.

Thank you to all the wonderful local organisations and legends who made this night possible. All proceeds raised from the night will go towards supporting youth mental health.

The YOU TURN IT UP FESTIVAL is a multi-band live music event that will be held on the main stage at NightQuarter Birtinya, on Saturday, 9 April 2022 to raise awareness and funds for Youturn’s youth mental health programs on the Sunshine Coast! This event is 16+ yrs and doors open at 4PM.

Originally planned for April 2021, but a COVID outbreak caused it to be postponed and rescheduled to June 2021, only for that date to be cancelled once again due to the pandemic.

Now, 12 months later, the brothers have reimagined the original festival concept and have put together an amazing line up of acts to present in a non-stop 5 hours of high energy music that includes 3 bands and 3 DJs.

“We both like to party so we have made sure we have put together a line up and a show that will keep us all partying from start to finish” says Sam

Headlining the festival will be the multi-platinum, ARIA nominated BOMBS AWAY and absolute superstar DJ-producer, BROOKE EVERS. The new BOMBS AWAY live show will see Tommy delivering more energy and interaction with exclusive custom remixes, hype vocals and insane stage presence, intertwining club classics with pop culture references, whilst continuing to build on the unforgettable BOMBS AWAY experience that fans have come to know and love.

BROOKE EVERS has been catching the attention from fans worldwide with her explosive energy, delivering stellar hues of electro-house, open format and old school mash up vibes fused with high- powered visuals and frenzy on the mic.

Joining the line-up will be local Electro pop punk duo SAILING IN SPACE, fresh off the release of their first single “Like It”, Brisbane up-coming DJ MOXYB, EDM Alt Pop outfit ACER SPADE and the host band and organisers of the festival SAMETIME, who are currently sitting in the ARIA club charts with the Ivan Gough/Jyye remix of their single “Get To Know Ya”.

“First and foremost” says Tim, “it’s about having an unbelievably awesome night with crazy good music, but underlying this, is our commitment to raising awareness and much needed funds for the charity we are ambassadors for, Youturn Youth Support.”

“Youturn do incredible work here on the coast for local youth experiencing issues such as homelessness and mental health concerns” says Sam. “So, come and party with us and have a great time but know that every single penny of profit from this night will go towards helping other young people here on the Sunny Coast doing it tough.”

Official ambassadors of Youturn, Sam and Tim Aitken of the band Sametime, are two brothers from the Sunny Coast with heaps of musical talent. They came up with the this exciting initiative to support young people in need by staging a series of concerts that could help Youturn raise funds to establish tiny homes.

It’s a great story with a duo of local lads, supporting other kids who are sleeping rough. At the “SameTime” ? they are supporting local musicians, helping Youturn get our name out into the community across the Coast and giving local kids an event to look forward to!

Playing together for more than half their lives, Sam and Tim have become a staple in the Sunshine Coast live scene – playing over 300 shows since they were 13 years old, including slots at Bluesfest, the Caloundra Music Festival and a multitude of charity events each year. In 2016, whilst in their tweens, they raised $20,000 for two local families with sick children.

Despite their rising status and signing a long-term deal with publishing giants Sony/ATV, Tim and Sam realise how fortunate they are and are committed to doing more and giving back to their local community. “We did our research and we loved that Youturn is a local, grassroots charity who are focused on supporting young people on the Sunshine Coast. They have a passionate team, who are really dedicated to making a difference to the vulnerable people in their care. As artists and musicians, we hope to use our time and talent to help raise Youturn’s profile and the work they are doing.”
