We’re stoked to announce individuals, or teams, can now create personal fundraising pages on Youturn’s behalf, and share their page with friends, family and community members to collect donations towards our youth causes.
Youturn’s Engagement and Donor Relations Manager, Susan Beaton, is calling on Youturn supporters to get behind this new initiative and in particular runner Riley O’Brien who is bravely breaking new ground for us.
“Riley contacted us a couple of weeks ago to let us know he was participating in the Pomona King of the Mountain run (25 July) and would like to use this challenge to fundraise for us,” Susan said.
“This got us thinking about the popular peer to peer online fundraising and we set about creating a platform to enable Riley, and other interested people, to fundraise online this way,” she said.
When you are doing something with passion for a purpose, such as running up mountains never attempted before, it is motivating and fun, explains Riley O’Brien.
“I like a challenge, so signed up for the Pomona King of the Mountain,” Riley said.
“Kids shouldn’t have to face challenge, especially one they don’t have a choice in. So I’m running to raise some funds for Youturn Youth Support,” he said.
The recreational runner aims to make the steep Noosa hinterland mountain terrain mid-field and hit his $500 fundraising goal for local youth – please donate if you can.
If you want to take up your own challenge and fundraise for Youturn like Riley, visit our website to see your choices, follow the simple steps to sign up and get started.
Youturn are incredibly grateful to our community fundraisers who we invite to become a YouCrew VIP member – friends of Youturn doing their bit for good.
