Snags on the Barbie for Homelessness Week

Did you know that each night in Australia 105,000 people are experiencing homelessness, with more than 1 in 3 being children and young people under the age of 25?

Homelessness Week each August aims to raise awareness of the impact of homelessness on Australia and bring communities and organisations together to work towards ending homelessness.

To cap off the week, our Youturn team donned the aprons and dusted off the tongs for a free community BBQ

It was a wonderful opportunity for local services to connect with those in need, and each other to continue working together on this ever important issue.

Such a great afternoon was made possible without the support of our incredible community.

Thank you to Christie Barbecues, Coolcrete Coatings, Page Furniture, Landmark Products, Hamilton Gas & Maintenance, Noosa Council, and the legends at the Noosa Community Training Centre for donating their time, talent and treasure to create the wonderful community space we gathered in, for all to enjoy.

Thank you also to the local legends at Richie’s Bakery for the bread and Noosa Outlook Prestige Meat for the BBQ meat, and to the wonderful Mayor Clare and Councillor Karen Finzel for joining us.
