Christmas Giving

This year Youturn is approaching Christmas giving a little differently, and we invite you to join us in giving a little, if you can.

In 2021, we will be connecting families accessing Youturn support to Santa’s Classy Ladies – a dedicated group who fundraise year-round so children in need can enjoy Christmas.

Youturn’s Natalie Clarke has seen first-hand the difference the Classy Ladies make to a struggling family. “Our families are dealing with big issues; domestic and family violence, mental health, financial, and so Christmas expectations can be overwhelming…Santa’s Classy Ladies take the pressure off and make giving possible, so families in need can enjoy Christmas too,” Natalie said.

For all our other service users, such as single people, young adults and older teenagers, we’re simply asking donors to give a little often if you can, so we can direct donations to where it’s needed most, all year round and not just at Christmas time.

Youturn’s Darcy Foley, General Manager – Homelessness, explains the benefit of giving a little regularly to people experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness.  “People trying to find or sustain a stable roof over their heads are not in such a good position to be receiving big hampers or extra belongings… they travel light and don’t have storage.  What we want is to use extra funds to meet more practical needs ongoing… regular giving gives the people we support a safety net and extra year-round support”, Darcy said.

If you are in a position to give a little each fortnight or month, please consider becoming a regular giver to Youturn: https://youturn.org.au/how-you-can-help/get-giving-for-christmas-christmas-campaign/
