Chilling at Caloundra Music Festival

Youturn were invited to host a Chillout Zone for teens and young people at the Caloundra Music Festival in October.

Working together with Sunshine Coast Council and their Youth Council, our Youturn team including our headspace Maroochydore Youth Engagement Committee and members of our YouCrew, put together a space for young people to chill out at the festival.

The “Yourspace Chillout Zone” included a hang out space for teens, festival makeup and hair braiders, phone charging stations and an all-important Instagram backdrop for photo ops.

If festival goers were tired of dancing or needed a break from the crowds, they were invited to hangout and relax on bright colourful bean bags, take a breather and listen to the music from a safe quiet space.

“Festivals can be a fantastic experience for young people, but they can also be quite overwhelming. Having a space to relax and take a moment to yourself is extremely important, and we were so happy to be able to provide this safe space” – Dr Tanya Bell, Youturn CEO

Our YouCrew will be hanging out at the Yourspace Chill Out Zone again next year. Stay tuned for more information and announcements in 2023.
