Corporate
partners
Partnerships are formed to align interests of both parties and to make a difference in local community areas we both live and work.
Sometimes we come together for a specific time limited project to address a current or emerging need, referred to as project partners. Other times we aim to build longer term sustainable solutions together, referred to as major partners.
Unitywater supports Youturn to deliver youth outreach and infrastructure projects over a 3-year partnership. Underpinning projects is the housing affordability issue which is pushing more young people into homelessness and psychological distress.
Helping us build transitional homes
We approached Aussie Tiny Houses in August 2020 during Homelessness Week, with a vision to build tiny homes as a transitional housing solution during a pandemic, a lever to a Queensland rental crisis. The team at Aussie Tiny Houses supported our vision and patiently gave us all the advice, tips and encouragement on building sustainably without scrimping on quality while we fundraised with our community. Twelve months on, the Aussie Tiny Houses team donated $10,000 to reach our fundraising goal and kick start the build of two tiny homes.
As a result of our close working relationship Youturn and Aussie Tiny Houses have formalised a corporate agreement with a signed MOU to show commitment, help raise funds and create awareness for Youturn’s housing programs.
(home loans and
campaign support)
Tewantin Noosa Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank has come on board as a partner of Youturn! Every Loan (whether it’s a personal, business home loan or mortgage lease) applied for at Tewantin Noosa Community Bank, where Youturn is mentioned, a percentage is donated back to Youturn. So for a home loan of $500,000, Youturn could earn a donation of $1000! Just imagine the good that money can do!
Community bank staff are also active advocates and participants in Youturn social cause campaigns responding to local needs.
Dingira Warrai (sea dance in Kabi Kabi language) was born from an invitation to Youturn by Tewantin Dental Centre, part of Bupa’s Dental Network, to apply for a grant to deliver a wellbeing program aimed at building mentally healthy and resilient communities. Fusing traditional and contemporary Sunshine Coast culture, Youturn partnered with Gubbi Gubbi Dance, Surf Dancer Academy of Surf, Bupa’s Tewantin Dental centre and Tewantin State School.
(emergency relief groceries and Campaign support)
Youturn is proud to be partnering with IGA Supermarkets as a preferred supplier of Youturn’s grocery vouchers in our Emergency Relief and Homelessness programs.
Roz White and the White’s IGA stores on the Sunshine Coast have also been enthusiastic and passionate supporters of ours and we admire their dedication to helping support young people in our local community.
Mambo Coffee Roasters have been very supportive of Youturn by sourcing and packaging our delicious Youturn roasted coffee beans (which we promote online), as well as attending our events and selling coffees with all proceeds going to our fundraising initiatives.
(Community Car loan)
The lovely team at Cricks Noosa gave the Youturn Community and Partnerships Team the use of their Community Car, a brand-new Nissan SUV for 3 months (March – June), to help support the work that we are doing in our local community up and down the coast. This was a great help in expanding our reach and supporting as many young people as possible!
Absolute local legends!
Creating messages to build community
The friendly Haymes Paint team kindly sponsored street art projects led by local artists for people engaged in our programs, such as our Women’s “Your Turn to Shine” mural and young men’s wellness activity.
